Sr. iOS Engineer
Welcome to Devlane!
We are a dynamic software development company with a strong presence across Latin America. Currently, we specialize in offering staff augmentation services to clients worldwide, with a particular focus on North America.
Joining our team offers you the opportunity to shine and make a significant impact on the projects you work on. Many of our clients are modern small to medium-sized businesses experiencing rapid growth, and they're eager to add core members like you to their teams. This environment ensures you'll stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends.
At Devlane, our values are straightforward: we foster a collaborative environment and prioritize building long-lasting relationships where you can develop your skills as a software engineer and learn from your peers.
What's the role about?
You'll be joining a small, senior iOS team building the Discover Echo App, an iPad application that controls real laboratory microscopes and delivers live image analysis to cell biology labs worldwide. This is far from a typical mobile app: it's a hardware-integrated, image-processing-heavy product used daily by scientists at top pharma companies and research institutions. Your work will directly impact how cutting-edge biologics and therapies are developed.
What do we require from you?
- Swift & UIKit Expert: Senior-level Swift (5.9–6.1) with strict concurrency, actor isolation, and async/await; expert-level UIKit with proven experience navigating large codebases (100k+ LOC, coordinator pattern navigation).
- SwiftUI in Production: Ability to write clean, idiomatic SwiftUI and work fluidly in hybrid UIKit/SwiftUI environments, including incremental screen migration.
- iOS 26 / Liquid Glass Ready: Hands-on experience adapting apps to iOS 26 UI conventions, auditing visual regressions across navigation bars, sheets, toolbars, and custom controls.
- Advanced Concurrency Architecture: Fluent in both GCD and Swift's modern concurrency model; able to read, extend, and compose operation-based workflows (ProcedureKit or similar frameworks) used in hardware acquisition pipelines.
- Image Processing & Hardware Integration: Working knowledge of CoreImage and Metal/MetalKit for GPU-accelerated rendering, AVFoundation for live video capture, and familiarity with hardware communication patterns (USB-C / network-attached devices).
- Independent Contributor in Distributed Teams: Comfortable owning work end-to-end in a lean, async-first remote environment; able to mentor junior engineers through code review and drive tasks to completion with minimal hand-holding.
Some of our Perks:
- Salary in USD.
- 100% Remote
- 25 days of Paid Time Off per year.
- 8-hour workday, with flexible hours.
- Welcome kit from the brand.
- High-end hardware provided: laptop, mouse, & headphones.
