Welcome to Devlane!

We are a dynamic software development company with a strong presence across Latin America. Currently, we specialize in offering staff augmentation services to clients worldwide, with a particular focus on North America.

Joining our team offers you the opportunity to shine and make a significant impact on the projects you work on. Many of our clients are modern small to medium-sized businesses experiencing rapid growth, and they're eager to add core members like you to their teams. This environment ensures you'll stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends.

At Devlane, our values are straightforward: we foster a collaborative environment and prioritize building long-lasting relationships where you can develop your skills as a software engineer and learn from your peers.

What's the role about?

As a Data Engineer on our team, you’ll play a key role in shaping the data infrastructure behind the client's cloud and edge solutions. You’ll work alongside a group of talented engineers and take ownership of designing, building, and maintaining robust data systems that support real-time insights, automation, and analytics. From ingesting edge device data to optimizing cloud-based pipelines, your work will directly impact the performance, scalability, and reliability of our end-to-end IoT platform.

We're seeking a motivated Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions. You'll work with cutting-edge AWS and IoT technologies to deliver high-impact, end-to-end data pipelines for both batch and real-time analytics, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build & Manage Data Pipelines: Develop secure and scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines using AWS services (Glue, Lambda, Athena, Timestream, S3) and edge technologies (MQTT, AWS IoT Greengrass).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Define, develop, and deploy cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
  • SQL & Data Transformation: Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries for data transformation and validation across AWS data services.
  • Observability & Security: Implement and maintain observability tools (CloudWatch, Grafana) and ensure robust data security using best practices for IAM, encryption, and access control.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with software, DevOps, and product teams to deliver comprehensive data solutions.

Core Requirements

  • Development Lifecycle: Proven experience in prototyping, testing, and code review across full development cycles.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, skilled in scripting languages like Python or JavaScript, experience with Linux environments, Docker, and Git and solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and Terraform.
  • Key Attributes: Self-motivated, responsible, adept at managing multiple priorities independently, with excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills. A proactive, quick learner with a strong sense of initiative and ownership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with low-latency edge-to-cloud data pipelines.
  •  Familiarity with React/Node.js for internal tools or dashboards.
  • Hands-on experience with a broader range of AWS services and IaC tools (e.g., Terragrunt, Atlantis).
  •  Exposure to additional monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus) or end-to-end testing frameworks.

Some of our Perks:

  • Salary in USD.
  • Work-from-home position
  • 25 days of Paid Time Off per year.
  • 8-hour workday, with flexible hours.
  • Welcome kit from the brand.
  • High-end hardware provided: laptop, mouse, & headphones.
  • English classes, virtual library and online courses.
  • Contribution bonuses
